Bayvarol Strips

Bayvarol Varroa Strips are a type of treatment used in beekeeping to control Varroa mites, which are parasitic mites that can significantly harm bee colonies. These strips contain an active ingredient called flumethrin, which is effective in controlling Varroa mite infestations.

A pack of 4 strips is suitable to treat one brood box (10 frame) for 6-8 week period.

Please note: When treating with Bayvarol it is advisable to remove the honey super as the active ingeredient is lipothilic which means it will impregnate the wax (which is how it actually manages to kill the mites).

When treating, it's also advisable to ensure that hive beetle is also under control or you have control measures in the hive. Sadly, the two pests do a good job of collapsing the hive when present together.

Early treatment is essential. As soon as the mite load in the was hits 5 - treat. Don't treat before you hit 5 as it may weaken the hive.
